TechChora holds itself to the same standards as the best international publications in the world. This code defines how we report, how we verify, and how we treat the subjects and communities we cover.
1. Accuracy Above All
Every claim published on TechChora is verified before it appears. We do not publish rumor as fact. We do not attribute statements that are unconfirmed. When we are uncertain, we say so. When we are wrong, we correct ourselves publicly, quickly, and without qualification.
2. Independence From Commercial Influence
Our advertising and commercial partnerships do not determine our editorial agenda. No advertiser receives favorable coverage in exchange for spend. No company is protected from scrutiny because of a commercial relationship with TechChora. Our reporters do not cover companies they have a financial interest in.
3. Source Protection and Transparency
We protect the identity of confidential sources when their safety or livelihood depends on anonymity. In all other cases, we name our sources and explain why their perspective is relevant. We tell readers when we were unable to reach a subject for comment and what response, if any, was received.
4. Fair Treatment of Subjects
Every person and organization subject to criticism in our reporting is given a fair opportunity to respond before publication. We do not selectively quote to distort meaning. We do not publish personal information that serves no public interest. We treat the people in our stories with the same respect we would want extended to our own.
5. Diversity and Representation
Our newsroom is global and our coverage reflects that. We are committed to covering the full geography of the tech world, including regions that have historically received less attention. We do not traffic in stereotypes. We do not let our coverage default to a narrow set of voices because they are convenient.
6. Ethical Use of Multimedia
Images, video, and graphics used in our reporting are accurately captioned and sourced. We do not alter visual content in ways that mislead. We respect intellectual property rights and credit creators appropriately.
7. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Where a conflict of interest exists or could reasonably be perceived, we disclose it. Reporters recuse themselves from covering companies, individuals, or sectors where they have a personal or financial stake. Editors escalate potential conflicts rather than managing them in silence.
8. Legal Compliance
TechChora complies with applicable defamation, copyright, data protection, and privacy laws across the jurisdictions in which it operates. Our legal and editorial teams work together to ensure our reporting does not cross the line from accountability into harm.
9. Complaints and Feedback
Readers who believe a story has breached this code are encouraged to contact editor@techchora.com with a clear description of the concern and any supporting information. We take complaints seriously and commit to a substantive response within five working days.
